Description

This 4 days adventure focuses on face to face encounters with Gorillas and Chimpanzees in the wild. Bwindi National Park is largely famed for its population of mountain gorillas and unique birds species. Kibale National Park has one of the most diverse and highest concentration of primates in Africa. Apart from being home to our closest genetic relatives, the Red Colobus Monkey and L’Hoest’s Monkey can be found here. The gorilla and Chimpanzee tracking activity is the most enchanting experience that Uganda has to offer.

Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Transfer from Entebbe International Airport / Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

    Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be received by your Driver/Guide. After a detailed briefing session by your guide you will head out towards the first stop of your tour - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Finishing up with breakfast at Entebbe itself, you will begin the eight hour drive towards Bwindi National Park. Driving through the south west of Uganda there will be a brief stop at the equator that allows you time to get those pictures you have always wanted. After a stop for lunch at Mbarara, the drive will continue through savannah grasslands to reach Bwindi National Park by evening. The day comes to an end with a delicious dinner and a good night’s rest at your chosen choice of accommodation. The next day you will set out on your Bwindi gorilla trekking experience.

  • Day 2 - Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

    Kickstarting your day early in the morning, you will finish up a quick breakfast and walk towards the park headquarters for a detailed briefing. The DO’s and DONT’s of the gorilla trek will be briefed for your safety and rich experience. Generally, the gorilla trek last between 2 to 8 hours, but on some occasions it can take even a day to encounter these wonderful animals. You will be allowed to stay in the presence of these apes for at least an hour, or more, if time permits. A packed lunch will be provided and consumed at a suitable place while on the trek as one cannot determine how long it may take to encounter the mountain gorillas. The action packed day comes to a close with a freshly prepared dinner and overnight stay at your chosen accommodation.

  • Day 3 - Transfer to Kibale forest National Park

    Starting your day with an early breakfast, you will depart to your next destination - Kibale National Park. The drive is about 7 hours long with a mixture of road conditions. Lunch will be provided enroute to Kibale National Park. The long day of traveling comes to a close with dinner and overnight accomodation of your choice. Keep your excitement high for the next day you will go on a Chimp Tracking experience.

  • Day 4 - Chimpanzee tracking and transfer to Entebbe International Airport / Kampala

    The day begins quite early with a quick breakfast. The driver/guide will be there to pick you up for the Chimpanzee tracking experience in the jungles of Uganda. Enroute, you will be briefed by a ranger guide on how to conduct yourself while in the forest. Please pay close attention to this as it ensures your safety and a wonderful experience. Very often you will find the primates either resting, feeding or grooming each other with the young ones running all over the place. After spending quality time in the jungle with the chimpanzees, you will head out to Entebbe International Airport to carry on for your further travel. Lunch will be provided enroute.

  • Cancellations between 0-2 days before the adventure date - no refund
  • Gorilla and Chimp permits and flight tickets are excluded from percentages above and are 100% non-refundable
