Description

This 4-day gorilla trek safari takes you to the misty Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, which is home to more than half the population of the remaining 720 Mountain Gorillas. The Bwindi Impenetrable forest offers a unique birding opportunity, cultural experiences, a scenic allure of stunning hills and lush vegetation inhabited by the elusive primates. The gorilla trek activity is the most enchanting experience in this forest. Some relaxation at Lake Bunyonyi before having an experience of a lifetime watching at close range these majestic apes as they feed, play and relax. Before crossing to Queen Elizabeth National Park for a great game viewing experience.


Itinerary

  • Day 1: Transfer from Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

    You will be picked up around 7:00 am from your Hotel in Entebbe by our Guide who will brief you about your tour. You will later be driven in comfortable and secure touring vehicle to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the South-West which will take around 9 hours of drive. Lunch will be provided en-route at Mbarara.

    You will be reaching in the evening at the accommodation in Bwindi. Dinner and Overnight at :

    Mid-range - Bakiga Lodge / Broadbill Forest Camp / Rushaga Gorilla Haven's Lodge / Buhoma Community Haven Lodge.

  • Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

    You will have an early morning breakfast at 6:30 am and with packed Lunch you will move to the Park headquarters to join other trackers in a briefing about the gorilla trekking rules at 7:30 am. You will trek through thick creepers and undergrowth with your guides to find the Gorillas, which can take you 1-8 hours. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access by tourists. You will have one hour to stay with the Gorillas once sited and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.

    The drive will be in the beautiful part of the country often referred to as ‘the Switzerland of Africa’ because of its unique cool weather despite being near the Equator. This lake is said to be one of the most beautiful places in western Uganda. It is the second deepest lake in Africa (900 meters deep) and also one of the few places in the country where it is considered safe to swim as it is bilharzia free. There is a list of optional activities: Canoe ride, swimming (safe in this lake), hiking on some of the Island trails along the lake-shores, community walks and having a chance to meet the local people with small resident and exotic bird species singing. before returning for Dinner and overnight stay.

  • Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth, evening Boat cruise

    Wake up early in the morning and have your breakfast around 6:30 am and set off for Queen Elizabeth through volcanic formation of the western Rift Valley towards Queen Elizabeth N.P. The descent reveals a stunning panorama of lakes George an Edward amidst game-filled plains where you will reach in the afternoon check in to your Lodge have lunch and some rest for sun to go down.

    In the afternoon go the unique Boat cruise that takes 2 hours on the Kazinga channel and onto L.Edward. The trip passes through possibly the highest hippo concentration in Africa and many mammals may be seen drinking water. The cruise offers the excellent platform for photography and game viewing. The birdlife is colorful and abundant, later return for dinner and overnight stay

  • Day 4: Morning Game drive and transfer back to Entebbe

    The final day of your adventure in Uganda will begin by 6:30 AM. Have a quick breakfast and head for a short Game drive, and then continue driving towards Entebbe. On the way you will have Lunch before reaching Entebbe.
