Officially the Kingdom of Bhutan, in a landlocked country in South Asia located at the eastern end of the Himalayas. It is bordered to the North by China, and to the South, East and West by India. To the West it is Separated from Nepal by the Indian State of Sikkim. While further South it is Separated from Bangladesh by the Indian States of Assam and West Bengal.Bhutan's Capital and largest city is Thimphu.
The Dagala Thousand Lakes Trek passes by picturesque lakes, Alpine meadows, abundant wildlife and many Yak herder camp set to a backdrop of magnificent mountainous landscapes.The centerpiece of this communion with nature is time spent exploring the high altitude lakes overflowing with trout and mystical history. It is a Moderate trek with mostly short trekking days, but includes a few steep climbs. This trek is a great option for those with a desire to experience the variety of Flora and Fauna in Bhutan, and capture a glimpse of the local nomadic lifestyle. Also includes a tour of the fascinating sites of Thimphu and Paro

Meet the guide at the airport and drive Phuentsholling. Overnight at Phuentsholling.
After breakfast, transfer to Thimphu. - o/n at hotel in Thimphu
The trek starts from Thimphu. Thimphu to Genekha, Distance: 14kms trek, Trekking duration: 5 hrs. Altitude of Camp: 2950m. From the zero point of the Trek, start walking along the rough road leading to the Genekha Primary School. Lunch near the school. Another two hours walk should bring you to the Suspension bridge, location of the camp. This place is known for the gathering of the Matshutake mushrooms.
Distance: 8kms, Trek time: 6 hrs. Altitude of camp: 3350m. Crossing the suspension bridge, the trail heads west for sometime, the steep climb begins. Packed lunch on the rocky platform. from where you can have a beautiful view of the valley below. Another two hours walk will get you to the camp in a small clearing, in an otherwise bushy forest. Overnight at Camp
Distance: 13kms Trek time: 6hrs. Altitude of camp: 4300 m. A long strenous climb brings you to the pass where you can see the whole Dagala range. From here you enter the Yak country. The rest of the Trek today is through meadows and Yak herding camps. Camp beside the Yum Tsho. o/n in tent.
A day of rest and exploration at Labatama. Those energetic should try climbing to Amu Jomo, the chief mount of the area. The view is Spectacular from there. Otherwise hike around the lakes or do some fishing. o/n in tent
Distance: 14kms Trek time: 6-7 hrs Altitude of the camp: 4100m. You will be crossing the Jomigue La pass at 4460 pm. The trail takes you through alpine vegetation and in spring, you can see the grasses flowering.
Distance: 14km. Trek Time: 5-6 hours. Altitude of camp: 3800m. the trek is mostly on a down slope except for a few gentle climbs. You will be able to see some lakes and rohododendron shrubs on the way. Camp among shunted forests.
Distance : 17km. Trek Time : 5-6 hours. Altitude of camp : 2925m. The trek is downhill again and will be a little hard for the knees. The trail is through thick conifer forests and the camp is beside the Talekha Monastery.
The final day of trek is a short one and one should be able to rendezvous with the transport after about 3 hours. Transfer to Thimphu. Evening at leisure. Overnight in hotel. ( Dinner excluded).
