We will stay overnight at the hotel.
Today we will trek to Namche Bazaar. Namche is at an altitude level of 3440m. The route is eclipsed by vast mountain ranges with thick forests. The Dudh Koshi river flows along the side till Namche. We will stop at Monjo for lunch, which is the last point to get food before Namche. The route between Monjo and Namche is a gradually inclining trail amidst thick green forest. Most memorable trek I have ever done! Everest Base Camp trek has been in my bucket list for over 3 years now and I'm glad I could finally make it in October 2015. The views, the people, the villages, layers and layers of snow capped mountains, everything about this trek is so epic. Now I want to bring my friends on this trek for next season! Initially I was not so sure about choosing WeRamblers as I haven't heard of them before, but got convinced after talking and exchanging a few mails. Apart from the fact that they have great pricing for this, entire team was extremely cooperative and supportive right from my enquiry till I'm back in Kathmandu after finishing the trek. Entire trip was well organized and I'm coming to them for my next trek in Nepal
Definitely the ultimate place to visit. I created a lifetime of memories on this trip, The scenery and visuals speaks for itself. A true humbling experience and inspiring to view the highest peak on the planet. It is a hard slog, but with an organised company such as WeRamblers, you will get great local advice along with their own brand of humor! They are great at their job and very helpful and clear in the signing up process. Experienced guides and you meet some great people from different parts of the world. Yes the air is thinner, but so fresh, just make sure you are in reasonable shape!
An excellent trek by an excellent company. Thank you WeRamblers for providing us with such a great experience.
We were planning a visit to Nepal for the longest time and finally had booked a trek to the Everest base camp in August 2015. However, after the earthquake occurred in Nepal made us think whether to visit Nepal or not. We have sent many emails to WeRamblers and they really inspired us to visit! Finally, we decided to go! Our trip started from Kathmandu with some sightseeing tours and the historical sites that were little damaged but worth the visit. The trek to Everest base camp was a once in a lifetime decision we made and to do it with WeRamblers. Their warm hospitality and professional nature was one of the best we have seen in our 15 years of travelling experience. The guides they arranged to us, the manager in the company, So, if you plan to go to Nepal and are looking for a great EBC trekking experience, go with WeRamblers! A perfect company for your budget as well.
My wife and I recently trekked with WeRamblers to Everest Base Camp and I highly recommend using this company if you are considering doing this trek. We were very well looked after by them and both the porter and guide were very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. They catered to our needs and we enjoyed our trip a lot. Being winter made the experience very cold and we both got sick along the way. However, with the help of our guides we managed to make it! The trip was safe throughout and were free to enjoy the magnificent views rather than to worry about anything! Other trekkers had also commented on how well our guide and porter were looking after us, This wad definitely one of the best adventures of our lives!!
I did this trek in November 2013 from Lukla to EBC and Kalapathar. I was traveling alone and I could have joined a group of 5 people, but they cancelled last minute, Days were sometimes a bit long. This is something that you might encounter. Especially since not all of the guide have good English which can be difficult to discuss anything other than the usual. Guesthouses are mostly very basic with no heating in rooms, and possibly no shower for 10 days, Very little activities to do during long and cold evenings with sun setting quite early. So if traveling alone, you can try to make friends with other travelers, but I suggest to carry some interesting books! The days are beyond beautiful with gorgeous scenery. The trek can be sometimes tough and need to be in good health and minimum fitness. However the trail is secure and has wide paths and rocky stairs. Nights are very cold and must have warm sleeping bags and thick jacket. Something not widely known is that mountain sickness can become very common above 3,000 m with certain people might be experiencing headaches. Wise to carry some medicine. Also you ensure to drink at least 4 liter a day (tea, water...), which will allow the blood to be more fluid to transport oxygen. Best way would be to walk slowly and at a constant pace to avoid mountain sickness.
So to conclude, strong motivation is key if you want to go there. Regarding the operating company, service was overall good and price good as well. Our guide was very kind and helpful, but really wished was able to learn a lot more on the Nepali religions, culture or mountaineering stories. At the end of the trip, I was very happy with my achievement but also happy to get back home to the family.
It was cold in spite of having warm clothes and a lot of courage! But, it was a best trip for a life! I will be looking forward to do it more. Would recommend WeRamblers to others for EBC.
I definitely recommend this trek to Everest Base Camp, at the legs of the Top of the World. It is a must for everyone who like spending time in the mountains. Although it can get a bit challenging in some parts due to the air becoming thin, the views you get are certainly worth all the effort and exhaustion. Beautiful nature at its finest, great culture with its people. I was lucky to be guided WeRamblers and had the friendliest guide who has great knowledge of the EBC trek. I definitely would recommend them, as having a good and experienced guide surely enriches one's experience while being safe. Good luck and have fun!
Everest Base Camp is definitely the place for those whom altitude is their calling! Breathtaking views and a must for every mountain lover. It s a place where taking 15 steps causes shortness of breath. A night out with just a sleeping bag and a trip to the toilet is a silent and peaceful experience. Must not be missed by anyone!
