Description

The Pin Parvati valley of Spiti is considered the most beautiful in the region. The trek route crossing over from the Kullu valley takes you through most spectacular landscapes, and provides an experience to remember for life. The trek begins at Manikaran and winds along the raging Parvati River till the glaciated Pin-Parbati Pass (4900m). After crossing the pass the trail winds along the Pin river which is a tributary of the Spiti river. There is a dramatic variation in the scenery and also culture on crossing into Buddhist land of Spiti. We are now in a Buddhist region and here you will be able to visit some of the oldest monasteries like Ki Gompa, Tabo monastery & Kibber village and drive across the Kunzumla pass (4551m) to Manali and then to Delhi.


Itinerary

  • Day 1:

    Arrive Delhi Meeting and assistance on arrival and transfer to hotel. Overnight: Hotel.

  • Day 2:

    Delhi - Nalagarh Drive to Nalagarh. On arrival check into Hotel Nalagarh Fort. The Nalagarh Fort is situated near the Shivalik Hills near the base of the Himalayas. It was built by the rulers of Nalagarh, who were deeply interested in art and architecture. The present ruling family continues to stay at the heritage resort, which adds to its regal ambience. Nalagarh, a seven-hour drive from Delhi, is considered to be the gateway to Himachal Pradesh. Nalagarh Fort offers sweeping views of the Himalayan ranges. Overnight: Hotel

  • Day 3:

    Nalagarh - Manikaran Morning drive to Manikaran. Manikaran is popular for honeymoon destination and trailhead for numerous treks as well as a great countryside ideal for adventure sport lovers. On arrival Manikaran transfer to the Hotel. Overnight: Tourist Bunglow

  • Day 4:

    Manikaran Day at leisure to relax and explore the surroundings. Overnight: Tourist Bunglow

  • Day 5:

    Manikaran - Pulga (2290 m) Start the trek from Manikaran to Pulga (15 kms) through the forest road and we will have our lunch on the way to Pulga. Overnight: Tent

  • Day 6:

    Pulga - Khirganga (10 kms) Post breakfast with the packed lunch we start our Gradual ascent through villages, fields and forest. Khirganga (2960 m) is a holy place with Hot water springs. Overnight: Tent.

  • Day 7:

    Khirganga - Tunda Bhuj (18 kms) Post breakfast we start our trek with packed lunch through forest level walking to reach Tunda Bhuj (3285 m). The trail crosses several delightful pastures supporting a variety of wildflowers in the summer. Overnight: Tent.

  • Day 8:

    Tunda Bhuj - Thakar Kuan (16 kms) Post breakfast start trek through birch forest crossing rocks and dense vegetation. This section of valley is difficult at places as the trail frequently skirts rock faces that are difficult for laden porters. Lunch during the trek, Reach Thakur Kuan (3560 m) above the cliff section. Overnight: Tent.

  • Day 9:

    Thakar Kuan - Pandu Bridge (12 kms) Post breakfast start trek Beyond Thakar Kuan with the packed lunch The trail passes several Gaddi encampments before crossing a side river by a natural rock bridge. Trek for 12 kms to reach Pandu Bridge (3700 m). Overnight: Tent.

  • Day 10:

    Pandu Bridge - Mantalai Lake (15 kms) Post breakfast start trek 15 kms to reach Mantalai lake (4116 m), the source of Parbati river. Packed lunch we will serve you on the way to Mantalai lake.There is a choice of grassy camp- sites just beyond Mantalai. Overnight: Tent

  • Day 11:

    Mantalai Lake - Camp I (4573 m, 12 kms) Post breakfast Walk over the glacier & moraine with packed lunch and cross small lakes & streams to reach Camp I on the base of Pin Parvati Pass. Overnight: Tent

  • Day 12:

    Camp I - Camp II (4450, 12 kms) Post breakfast Cross over the Pin Parvati Pass (5319 m) with packed lunch and enjoy the view of several peaks of Kullu & Spiti region. The descent from the pass is gradual, over a snowfield. Camp near the confluence of Pin river with other small streams. Overnight: Tent

  • Day 13:

    Camp II - Chinpatta Maidan (3955 m, 14 kms) Post breakfast Trek down the valley along the left bank of Pin river. Lunch on the way to Chinpatta Maidan. Overnight: Tent.

  • Day 14:

    Chinpatta Maidan - Mud (15 kms) After breakfast we start our trek with packed lunch from here down to the first village of Pin Valley, Mud (3811 m). Overnight: Tent

  • Day 15:

    Mud - Sagnam (16 kms) - Kaza drive Breakfast at the Camp and start trek/drive for Sangam village with packed lunch. Sagnam is a big village on the confluence of Pin and Parahio rivers. Continue drive to Kaza. Arrive Kaza and check into hotel. Overnight: Hotel

  • Day 16:

    Kaza - Manali (225 kms) Post breakfast visit Key Monastery and drive to Manali with packed lunch via Kunzum Pass and Rohtang Pass, Arrive Manali by early evening, Upong arrival in Manali checkin to your hotel. Overnight: Hotel

  • Day 17:

    Manali - Nalagarh Drive from Manali to Nalagarh. Upon arrival at Nalagarh, transfer to hotel. Overnight: Nalagarh Fort

  • Day 18:

    Nalagarh - Delhi Drive and transfer to Int. Airport Morning drive to Delhi. Arrive Delhi and transfer to the airport to board the flight to Delhi
