Trek to the Base Camp of Mt Everest

Mount Everest for its size is a shy and retiring mountain. It hides itself away behind other mountains. On the north side, in Tibet, it does indeed stand up proudly and alone, a true monarch among mountains. But it stands in a very sparsely inhabited part of Tibet, and very few people ever go to Tibet. From the Indian side only its tip appears among a mighty array of peaks which being nearer look higher. Consequently for a long time no one suspected Mount Everest of being the supreme mountain not only of the Himalaya but of the world. The idea of climbing Mount Everest has been vaguely in men’s mind since the late 19th century. Lord Curzon the former Governor General and Viceroy of India from 1899 to 1905 also had it in his mind when he had written suggesting that the Royal Geographical Society and the Alpine Club should make a joint exploration of the mountain. On our trek to Everest Base Camp in Nepal you’ll stand face to face with Mount Everest. On this journey of a lifetime, you’ll experience base camp life of Mount Everest climbers, trek to the infamous Khumbu Icefall, marvel at the stunning views from Kala Patthar, and absorb the culture of the friendly Sherpa people of Nepal. This carefully constructed itinerary ensures proper acclimatization, allowing you to fully enjoy one of the world’s most stunning treks and discover why this trek to Everest Base Camp has become one of our most rewarding journeys.
