Dodital Bamsaru Khal Pass trek visits the remote Hanumanganga valley and the base of the Bundarpunch massif - source of the Hanumanganga River and its confluence with the Yamuna River in Hanumanchatti.

Trekking Routes for Dodital Bamsaru Khal Pass Trek :

Delhi - Haridwar - Rishikesh - Uttarkashi - Sangam Chatti - Bhebra - Dodital - Darwa Top - Bingad - Kanatal - Bamsaru Khal - Bamsaru base - Chupkantidhar - Songad - Sukki - Harsil - Rishikesh - Haridwar - Delhi

One of the less explored valleys in the Garhwal Himalayas, which is adjacent to the revered Ganga Valley and is known for its virgin meadows and full of wild flowers and showcasing beautiful views of not only the Bugyals, but also the peaks that stand as sentinels, along this beautiful trek.The Bamsaru Khal trek provides an opportunity to explore the Asi Ganga valley, and the upper reaches of river Hanuman Ganga all the way to Chayya Gidara valley. This route is considered as the old traditional conjunction between Yamunotri and Gangotri.


Itinerary

  • Day 1

    Delhi-Haridwar-Rishikesh In the morning board Shatabdi Express for Haridwar at 0600 hrs. Arrive Haridwar at 1120 hrs and met ravers team tour Guide. From here it's a drive of 45 minutes to Rishikesh. On arrival check into the hotel. Rishikesh is another religious town that is known for ashrams and temples. Overnight in the hotel.

  • Day 2

    Rishikesh - Uttarkashi (165 km/ 6-7 hrs) From Rishikesh it's a drive of 7 hrs to Uttarkashi. The drive is gorgeous continues in the lower Himalayas along the Bhagirathi valley. On arrival check into the hotel. Evening visit the town of Uttarkashi. Overnight in the hotel.

  • Day 3

    Uttarkashi - Sangam Chatti - Bhebra (8 km/2-3hrs) In the morning drive to Sangam Chatti which is 14 kilometers and takes about half an hour. This is the starting point of the trek. From Sangam Chatti the trail is well distinctive and climbs to the true right of the valley and continues to the village of Agoda. From here its another 2 kilometers trek to the settlement at Bhebra. Overnight in the tents.

  • Day 4

    Bhebra - Dodital (14 km/6hrs) From Bhebra the trail climbs steeply for 4 kilometers towards Dharkot. From here it's a gradual climb to Dodital via the settlement at Manjhi which has cluster of houses and tea shacks. Dodital is known for religious significance and is renowned tourist destination as well. Overnight in the tents.

  • Day 5

    Dodital The day is for rest and relaxation.

  • Day 6

    Dodital - Darwa Top - Bingad (12 km/5-6 hrs) The trail from Dodital ascends on the other side of the lake along the feeding stream. The trail initially continues in the forest and later leads to the open meadows. The trail towards the pass becomes more steeper. From the pass the views of Bandarpunch and Gangotri group are stunning. From here one path goes to the Yamuna valley. The trail towards Bingad from the pass continues on a beautiful meadow. On arrival camp near Bingad. Overnight in the tents.

  • Day 7

    Bingad - Kanatal- Deodamini (12 km/5-6hrs) The trail continues in beautiful Bingad valley exploring our day towards Deodamini, a higher meadow closer to main summit of Bandarpunch. After exploring Deodamini return to the base camp at Kanatal. Overnight in the tents.

  • Day 8

    Kanatal- Bamsaru Khal- Bamsaru base (10 km/5-6hrs) From Kanatal the trail ascends steeply towards Bamsaru Khal (4600m). From here a great range of Gangotri group of peaks can be viewed. Now the trail descends steeply towards base of Bamsaru Khal. The potential campsite is by the stream. Overnight in the tents.

  • Day 9

    Base - Chupkantidhar - Songad This day the trail ascends to a ridge top called Chupkantidhar. From here the trail descends to Songad a major stream that emerges from Chhaian bamak. The another profiles of Banderpoonch and Kalanag Peaks can be viewed from here. Camp by the stream and overnight stay.

  • Day 10

    Songad - Sukki - Harsil The day's final ascend on the outer ridge of Bandarpunch massif takes you finally to Bhagirathi valley. From the ridge it's descend to Sukhi village which is the road head. From Sukhi drive 15km to Harsil and check into the hotel. Evening at leisure. Overnight in the hotel.

  • Day 11

    Harsil - Rishikesh (230 km/ 9 - 10 hrs) From Harsil it's a long drive to Rishikesh via Uttarkashi. On arrival check into the hotel . Overnight in the hotel. Trip & Services Ends Here.
