The Gokyo Ri is one of the most spectacular treks on offer in the Everest Region.

Once described as “the best view point in the Everest Region,” the summit of Gokyo Ri (5483m) is the highlight of this trek and offers such a panorama of the Everest region and the Gokyo lake system that easily, it is the perfect alternative to the classic Everest Base Camp trek for those who are looking to avoid the heavy traffic of that route and want to feel the highest Himalayan giants closely. On a clear day, beside the four highest mountains Cho Oyu (8153 m), Lhotse (8501m), Makalu (8475 m) and Everest (8850m) many other named and unnamed mountains contributes to the view from the summit. The trail we follow is much more isolated than the EBC route and passes through rich section of Himalayan flora and fauna and gives ample time for acclimatization and chance to witness the gorgeous Himalayan landscapes in its raw forms. It is not only the Gokyo Ri, its lakes and its views of the highest giants that makes this trek unique but also the largest glacier of Nepal that is the heart of this trek and the Dudh Kosi which runs along almost throughout clearly becomes the soul of the trek. The fight from Kathmandu to Lukla, the tea houses, Namche Bazaar, Sagarmatha National Park, etc are among other highlights of the trek along with the insight on the Sherpa culture you get walking in the heart of the Sherpa land.
